Out of everything, nuclear threat is the thing that scares you most?phantom000 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 6:31 pmThat is what scares me.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 5:04 pm Putin cannot be allowed to feel embarrassed. He will prefer nukes to that I promise you.

As a fairly apathetic person. Isn't that a good one to be afraid of?BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 8:36 pmOut of everything, nuclear threat is the thing that scares you most?phantom000 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 6:31 pmThat is what scares me.clearspira wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 5:04 pm Putin cannot be allowed to feel embarrassed. Re: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
People have argued that Putin will not use nukes because there is no conceivable scenario where he would benefit from it. The problem with that argument is that it effectively summarizes this entire war. He came very close to breaking Ukraine in the first couple months but he has been losing troops, materials and ground ever sense and the last few weeks those loses have accelerated. So how is he supposed to come out on top when the dust settles?BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 9:53 pmI suppose there's worse.Nealithi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 8:54 pmAs a fairly apathetic person. It feels like he will fight on to the bitter end more for his own vanity than serving his country and if that is the case there is not much reason not to drop a couple nukes just to spike Ukraine. And if the nukes start flying there is no guessing where it will end and that is what I'm afraid of.

Well this conversation took a distressing turn.
"Believe me, there’s nothing so terrible that someone won’t support it."

I think what a lot of people forget is that Putin has a fully equipped bunker with enough food and water to last years. In a nuclear war, he'll be the last one to die. And that is the true tragedy of nuclear war. The men that brought us to the end of the Earth will be the least punished.phantom000 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 10:22 pmPeople have argued that Putin will not use nukes because there is no conceivable scenario where he would benefit from it. Yeah a basement of 80 year old rations left over from wwII and reusable candles. Sounds delightful.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:27 amI think what a lot of people forget is that Putin has a fully equipped bunker with enough food and water to last years. Or the rumors that he's dying are true and he has nothing to lose.

People have been saying he's been dying since the war started and there is still no outward evidence of it apart from ''a strange look''. Meanwhile Joe Biden (whom people keep trying to convince me is just fine) has fallen over twenty times and keeps on forgetting what he is talking about.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:49 pm Or the rumors that he's dying are true and he has nothing to lose.
