Coronavirus - the new pandemic

I think Mr Johnson's plan is a very good one. Whereas all of these other countries are completely losing their shit fruitlessly trying to stop it, our plan is ''you can't stop it any more than you can stop the Earth orbiting the sun. Lets push it into summer when we can best deal with it whilst building to everyone's immunity''. After all, by the stats, it mostly kills the old and the ill. If you keep THEM isolated whilst the rest of us are sneezing then its all good.

Just imagine how up the creek we would be if Johnson hadn't won the election. Corbyn would probably have called us all racist for trying to stop a Chinese disease from immigrating and opened up all our borders to it.
Yeah, the last thing you want to do with a disease outbreak is take steps to slow it down or reduce transmission in any way. It's almost as fruitless and ridiculous as wiping your ass with Scotts two-ply instead of yesterday's Daily Male or an old dishcloth.
I never said we were not taking steps to slow it, I said stopping it is fruitless. The smart move is to slow it into summer when statistically less people are ill from other things and thus put less strain on the NHS. That last part is important as there is a stark difference between how a small country with a socialised health system and a gigantic country with a corporate health system can and should react.

There are still people that are in risk group without being ill way you only seem to consider. So really I don't see how waiting till summer helps at all.

Because the NHS is overstretched. In winter you have every winter ailment to fight alongside corona - colds, flu, pneumonia etc. In summer you have less other things to fight and thus more NHS beds available.

China is only allowing 2 international airports to open but American airlines are being stupidly suppressed. Not also that but I am seeing an increase in paranoia in senior citizens, with my mom being a victim herself and trying to force the madness and rage on me! Yes, I am cynical but not evil, living with a heavy-religious parent is borderline torture when that parent has intent to kill you psychology and spiritually.

Funny how people who supposedly believe that a life of bliss is waiting after death are still afraid of death.

Being down to half a roll, I mostly annoyed at the moment by the toilet roll buying idiocy.
