Re: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Because whilst apparently it will be WW3 if NATO puts a single boot in Ukraine, Putin is allowed to give Kim Jong premium discounts on oil and help with their ballistic weapons programs in favour of sending 10,000 soldiers into Ukraine.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 12:45 pm Wait why are North Korean troops there in the first place?
And people say that we are the warmongers in this situation.
Update on Syria whilst I am here: Russia is about to lose its only port in the Middle East which analysts predict will cause considerable damage to his North African interests. Ukraine is not just Putin's Vietnam at this point - it is his Suez Canal. The point in which the Empire falls.
Re: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Who's saying that? Well other than the obvious pro-Russian idiots and trolls anyway. Russia hasn't really mastered the art of lying, I suppose when you can say whatever you like and just lock up anyone who questions it you lose sight of how ridiculous your nonsense appears to everyone else.clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 1:42 pmBecause whilst apparently it will be WW3 if NATO puts a single boot in Ukraine, Putin is allowed to give Kim Jong premium discounts on oil and help with their ballistic weapons programs in favour of sending 10,000 soldiers into Ukraine.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 12:45 pm Wait why are North Korean troops there in the first place?

The sad truth of the matter is that ''Pro-Russian idiot'' is a much larger demographic than many of us would like to admit. Spend a morning in a Youtube comment section, Quora or on Facebook. Some could be trolls of course, but that is a lot of trolls.Riedquat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 2:31 pmWho's saying that? Well other than the obvious pro-Russian idiots and trolls anyway. Let's call them what they are bastards, happy to see innocent lives ended and ruin just because they can.

Reading comments on such places has always suggested a very large number of idiots, the question is how does that tie in with what you see when you actually see people for real?clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 2:48 pmThe sad truth of the matter is that ''Pro-Russian idiot'' is a much larger demographic than many of us would like to admit. These are the same people who think the civil war in America wasn't over Slavery. They are contrarian for contrarian sake, and have no empathy or ability to reason for other people. To them, everyone MUST act like me, or they are lying because reasons. Only I know the truth, and I'm the only one brave enough to say it. Well, me and my friends... and Joe Rogan.
Science Fiction is a genre where anything can happen. Just make sure what happens is enjoyable for yourself and your audience.

The whole Lost Cause/"states rights"/ "it wasn't about slavery" thing was taught in schools as historical fact in a lot of the country from pretty much since the war ended until like twenty years ago, and still going in some places. They aren't just randomly being individual contrarians, they were systematically lied to.

One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.

EHHHH I agree with you to a point. I grew up in KKK territory and even I was taught it was about slavery. The problem was, it was just 'one of the many issues'. When it was THE issue, and everything was a byproduct.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:31 amThe whole Lost Cause/"states rights"/ "it wasn't about slavery" thing was taught in schools as historical fact in a lot of the country from pretty much since the war ended until like twenty years ago, and still going in some places. The internet helped solve this issue as you can go read the Confederate declaration of independence.Nobody700 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 5:45 pmEHHHH I agree with you to a point.
