Elon's Twitter

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. Madner Kami wrote: Thu Sep 07, 2023 5:49 pm I picked up on that story a few weeks ago already, but was waiting to find more than one source for it and then forgot about it. Today, CNN picked up on it. Musk switched off Starlink during crucial military operation in Ukraine
Elon Musk secretly ordered his engineers to turn off his company’s Starlink satellite communications network near the Crimean coast last year to disrupt a Ukrainian sneak attack on the Russian naval fleet, according to an excerpt adapted from Walter Isaacson’s new biography of the eccentric billionaire titled “Elon Musk.”

As Ukrainian submarine drones strapped with explosives approached the Russian fleet, they “lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly,” Isaacson writes.

Musk’s decision, which left Ukrainian officials begging him to turn the satellites back on, was driven by an acute fear that Russia would respond to a Ukrainian attack on Crimea with nuclear weapons, a fear driven home by Musk’s conversations with senior Russian officials, according to Isaacson, whose new book is set to be released by Simon & Schuster on September 12.

According to the article I originally read, this allegedly went so far, that the US' Departement of Defence entered the field and threatend to take Starlink away from Musk.
If that is an option then I think they absolutely should - or at least deeply regulate it so that he has to get approval for this sort of thing. Interfering with the defence of a country is the point in which this guy goes from clown to ''threat to the free world.''

Also, ''conversations with senior Russian officials'' lol. What else were they going to say to him? ''Oh don't worry, Elon. We're just faking it. Our threats amount to that of a toddler threatening to punch a grown man in the thigh.'' He played right into their hands.

I tell you what is deeply amusing about all of this in retrospect. Do you remember a few years ago when he was just the guy who ran a car and space company? There were so many people back then who compared him to Tony Stark. You probably don't remember but I'm dead serious about that. The ''cool billionaire with a mouth who is building all of this space age tech.'' Here's a few to show you that i'm not full of shit.

Jesus Christ was the world ever in love with this guy. The main reason I bring this up is that Stark started out as a bit of a cock but ended up saving the world, then the universe, and all the while being a great family man who cared deeply for his daughter. Y'know, kind of ''not like'' Elon Musk.

Elon Musk thinks being a father begins and ends with getting a woman pregnant. He probably does consider himself a great family man.

Then the world is pretty dumb if they're stacking the fallout of Twitter to Space X And Tesla.
..What mirror universe?

It really does demonstrate how much he actually contributes to Tesla and Space X that blowing them off to play on social media all day for months on end hasn't mattered at all.

Time for some updates.
TwitterX rolls out $1 fee for new users in New Zealand and the Phillipines. This will likely to apply to everyone eventually.

Elon Musk is threatening to pull TwitterX out of the EU due to them asking for unreasonable things like... not spreading misinformation and protecting its users.

Traffic to TwitterX down 14% in the last year. Apparantly total view time is up... but only because of an ad revenue sharing program that has people clicking on more ads lol.

What a dumpster fire.

Whatever happened to that 30 billion Euro fine from Germany? Can't find anything recent, so maybe still in the courts.

Good. Let him do that. Makes Europe a better place instantly.

That legal procedure is ongoing. And it's 40 billion ;)

I really wish Elon would stop ruining Twitter, I'd like to use it to advertise my books and connect with my fans like I have been for five years.

He was always the money behind them.

Elon wasn't the scientist making these things, he was the South African Emerald Baron financing them.

They should update Ducktales and give Glomgold a son who is really into tech.
