Re: Coronavirus - the new pandemic
There is (scientifically less than rigorously founded) cautions by some health officials against using ibuprofen or other NSAIDs for coronavirus aches and fever, and recommending paracetamol (aka acetaminophen) instead. Other health officials say the connection isn't clear.
This may end up being bogus, but it doesn't look to me like some fringe type wackiness like colloidal silver.

On the subject of conspiracy theories I usually find the old idea of "never explain by conspiracy that which can be explained by cock-up (or bad luck)" works well.

I tend to head more to comprehensive understanding of institutions and industries and conducive assessments not bound by assumptions rather than showing an elaborate speculation of connect the dots.

Re: Coronavirus - the new pandemic
I suspect SARS-CoV-2 originated naturally, as SARS probably did. I don't think it's unreasonable to be suspicious of an escaped weaponized bug, considering the proximity of the lab and considering that the government of the People's Republic of China doesn't seem to have a whole lot of ethical limitations, but I'll assume this is a natural zoonotic transmission until there's better evidence otherwise.
I didn't see anyone here suggesting an intentional attack from the PRC, but I've seen others on the internet do so. I think that's pretty silly. They've imposed measures to limit population before, but I think this would be a desperate solution to a not-desperate problem. When you have an infestation of rabbits, you probably don't drop napalm.

Surely if the Chinese built a weaponized virus, they could create a disease that targets military aged people.

Ideally yes, but that's if they have the capability to tailor it however they like. A virus that targets the elderly and middle-aged is still very useful to use on a civilization that wants to keep those people around, and most of these already do that.
A bullet that targets enemy soldiers would be better than one that's purely ballistic, but, well.

Indeed. And it does really apply to this sittuation. After all that's how this started, from cock-up or bad luck. Something that should be clear to anyone to see and has evidence supporting it.
