Who makes the Internet more miserable in 2019?

The regressive left has made both the internet and the world in general awful.

I think it's the stakes being raised that has made the internet awful. For example someone makes a racist joke on a forum when they are in their teens and 15 years later after disagreeing with someone over feminism the old joke gets found and sent to their employer and that person gets fired. There is the perception that one class of opinions and only one class of opinions is allowed online and that has angered people to fight more bitterly and as a consequence, the internet is more miserable.

edit: Then again I still like the Internet as a whole or why would be posting here right?

That's another thing that's made the Internet so awful. People calling the left "regressive." Who belongs to the political spectrum that wants to ban abortion, make it harder to get birth control, and just generally take us back to the 1950s (imo, because those doing the steering miss their childhoods)? The right. Specifically, a certain segment of white religious conservatives. The left has problems, and will discuss them and hammer them out over time like any other political issue. But it is the right-wing GOP full of its religious bigotry and racial intolerance elitism and misogyny that's trying to return us to the 1950s. THEY are the true regressives, not us. You can tell that when they literally sabotage abortion across several dozen states so that women have to head to other states to do so.

I call a certain subset of the left regressive because they are every bit as regressive as their counterparts on the right. And to anyone who whines about the label, I'll simply say that actions speak louder than words. ;)

I do get what you're saying. I'm personally just more just put off by conduct than principle.

Well, can't deny that. I do believe in the horseshoe theory. But then, why not say regressives? Those wanting to take us back should transcend the political spectrum, whether right or left.

What makes the left regressives worse than the right regressives? Who literally are walking avatars of 1950s social problems and want to take us back to that. White privilege, male privilege, spousal abuse, sex scandals, and so on.

I'm specifying exactly who I'm talking about when I say right or left. There are similarities between them, but there are also differences.

The things that make them worse are the doublethink they use to excuse themselves from their own claimed standards and the moral certitude they use to fool themselves into thinking they are somehow good people for doing all the horrible things they do. Their counterparts on the right tend to at least acknowledge that they are horrible people and just don't care.

And the right is somehow exempt from doublethink? It's human nature, and you can find it even outside politics or people who get involved in it.

Ah, classic whataboutism. I already said they're both regressive, just in different ways.
