Black privilege?

What does that has to do with you self identifying as an sjw?

Maybe I do, maybe I don't, did you think of that?

All you're doing is taking any instance of the word liberal and using it as a qualifier for leftist/progressive association of some sort in order to ambiguate terms. Meanwhile you're the one who said that a black conservative isn't really a thing that you're likely to find in the world.

There's generally conservatives and liberals that fall into the Republicans or Democrats, respectively speaking. Saying that you think people should be able to wear whatever color shoes they want (therefore liberal values) doesn't blur the lines between conservatives and liberals. As such, when I say there are lots of black Republican women, that doesn't mean the doors open for "well technically there are liberal republicans... and besides, being conservative doesn't mean you aren't liberal," as a retort.

Wait, when did I say that? :o Black conservatives are a real thing, but black Republicans are rarer, and this dude doesn't understand that kind of nuance. I could show you some of his comments, if you wish?

BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:04 pmRepublicans can be seen as trying to sustain a status quo American culture, typically referred to as problematically blind to identity politics and what not. That is the recognized definition of conservatism, and I think there's lots of minorities that fall under the rubric, or just people that don't care about politics.

In other words, not every black person is going to adhere to progressive politics as you understand it. It's not much different than when you were talking about hispanics that are on the Trump side of immigration because they believe in due process. You can't just lump people on to a side because of their identity.
Yukaphile wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:06 pm When I think conservative, I hear the world "held back." When I hear traditional, I think " old-time values." Depends on the person.
BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:12 pm
It doesn't depend on the person. You're acting as if there's no such thing as black Republican women that would recognize something like Affirmative Action as a privilege.
Yukaphile wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:39 pm What does this have to do with Democrats and Republicans? There are conservative Democrats and "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" Republicans out there. Conservative is a nuance, just like "traditional" is, and neither is universal to just one party. That's what this dude don't get. There are conservative Democrats and liberal Republicans. Don't you love diversity?

Yes. You were upset because he said that such persons were privileged for being able to charge people by yelling "racism." That's pretty much not how progressives consider the adjective term of being privileged when talking about such affairs. There is however a lot of people, even the type he's interested in, that would agree with the fact that being able to convince people of racism by such means, is a privilege. It's far from being described as finding a pin on Mt. Everest.

I'm talking about completely different ones. I want you to see what kind of person he is.
