Oh trust me, I am not being ignorant of anything. I am being 100% malicious. I didn't know this person existed 24 hours ago and since she won't exist 240 hours from now, I guess I don't need to start now.

If Fuzzy has a problem with that... well, first you would have to show me something Fuzzy doesn't have a problem with so that I have a reference point to go by. Right now it's all just a blur of righteous indignation so it's hard to really get a bearing.

But hey, if anybody here actually knows this person and isn't just reacting to a news article that pressed the right buttons, let me know. I would be happy to share my life experiences that gives me a very callous perspective on the subject, and then offer actual sympathies for their personal loss. But if it's just a bunch of people online looking for the next thing to be outraged over, well, I don't mind telling you I'm listening to some Queen right now, Track 17 of Greatest Hits as it were. Clutch those pearl ladies!

Also your incorrect use of Dunning Kruger is rather ironic, I got a good laugh at that. So thank you!

You're a proud self-declared douche who doubles down when called out on douchyness. Got it.

But don't you think you've done enough already??

Well I mean I wasn't that serious about it, just going off of what Fuzzy said. For either circumstance that would have transpired though, I think it was a reasonable assertion.

56 million people die per year. Often in more tragic circumstances than this girl. Number of seconds most people think about these people? Next to 0.

Zoinksberg could have said is more tactfully, but he is not wrong. The only reason any of you care about her is because you are reading about her. Next week? She'll be nothing more than one of the 56 million and someone else will come along to monopolise you attention for a day or two. I think the real reason that people are getting offended is that he is hitting a little too close to home with that remark.

And BTW this is why I also have no time for any sanctity of life arguments from pro-lifers. You don't care about the people who are already here, and yet you care OH SO MUCH about a clump of cells? Did you know that there are now aprox 80 million births a year? Do the math.

I tend to agree with clearspira.

It's sad to have someone so young take her own life, but, IMHO, it was her choice. For me to say, "You need to continue to live no matter how much you say you are suffering," would be putting my discomfort at her death as being more important than her discomfort at her life.

I'm about the same way. For me it's much the same way I feel about abortion. I feel appalled at how some cheaply some people treat life, but for me the libertarian argument always wins out, and there's no way I could ever argue in favor of forcing someone to live if they've decided they really want to die. Just don't expect me to be real supportive about it, or to think of someone like her as anything other than a coward. Maybe that's harsh of me, but don't expect me to cheer someone for giving up on life.

I had no idea the Netherlands allowed people to self-terminate... what a revolutionary concept. I'm conflicted, don't know how to feel, but tbh, I think if life is too painful, it should be allowed to end. With that said, my heart just bleeds for this poor girl. I hope she found the peace in death that she never could in life. I've felt the same before, toed that line, and it's horrible. No one should have to go through that. And this ironically doesn't make it any better, any easier for me, because one of my biggest outrages with life at the moment is how people are engaging in bad messaging and bad history to downplay survivors just like her and how deeply it scars you for life. Missing the point. Or to make something like her struggles political. Jesus Christ, what's wrong with us?

I feel kinda self conscious for declaring this, but I never was offended by Zoinksberg.

Me either, but then I've always had a dark sense of humor, and that only got worse during my short time in the military.
