It's just more proof misogyny is harder to fight than racism. I mean, Obama didn't get none of that tokenism shit, did he? No. Why should women?

I think you misunderstand me. What I wanna do when it comes time to break that glass ceiling is "make history." Obama made history. He was the civil rights movement reaching the final conclusion - at least in theory. It's what those in the 1960s probably always dreamed about. Why should women get robbed of that too? Especially if the idiot who chooses her dies in office, so that it's basically a man giving a woman a helping hand into office through no will of her own? That's more of the same old shit we get with how patriarchy hurts women. How will "history" remember that? As the same old bullshit sexism it always is. A minority group got their moment, their champion. Women do not get that. It's so disgusting, it's what drove me away from voting. Why I didn't vote in 2018. Why I do not want to vote next year, or ever. Some claim it's a meaningless gesture, but a lot of symbolism goes into how history is made. And I want women to reach the Oval Office on their terms. But that's just never going to fucking happen, is it?

So don't. Life is a drag, huh? Unfair as hell and you shouldn't expect anything less.

Did Obama make being black a reason to vote for him? Did Hillary Clinton make being a woman a reason to vote for her? Sure, some people voted for Obama because he's black, but did he ask for that?
IMHO, if you say, "vote for me, I'm an X," where isn't something that actually helps you in the office, you've moved at least partly into tokenism.

The strangest thing about the Democratic candidates is that the candidate who actually has the most "diversity points" is probably the one who is also the least interested in identity politics (maybe it has something to do with being from Hawaii).

Of course, she doesn't have a prayer because she isn't buying into the insane Russian collusion conspiracy theories, but she might be this cycle's Ron Paul.

And if you don't know who I'm talking about, do some research.

I could live with Tulsi Gabbard as Prez. For me, her vs. Trump is pretty much a toss-up.
