I think Great Britain will be resolved in our life time, so... yeah? Kinda?

What's "resolved" supposed to mean?

The monarch pretty much is just a figurehead.

That is how monarchies work. The King or Queen dies, everyone along the line of succession gets a promotion.

Like Prince William is now Prince of Wales. Just like Charles was when the Queen was alive.

Just like Prince William's oldest son (George I think) takes up his father's title.

Though if I remember there was a law or rule that greatly reduced the number of royals who carrying titles.
I got nothing to say here.

I can recommend this video about the british succession-lines. It's minimally out of date now though.

Given how much the Queen embodied the institution, this might be a good time to reevaluate the monarchy as a whole.

Uh, no. It's not a rota. Prince William is still Duke of Cambridge, in addition to Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and the other titles Charles passed on. George will probably get some title at roughly the same time as his father did (i.e. on marriage).

My mistake. I thought titles were jumped up on the direct line of succession.

I must say, I'm getting tired of all the media coverage. We're not British, so why should our media spend so much time and energy covering the Queen's death and funeral arrangements? (Aside from the population eating it up, of course.)

I think a soap opera could be made much more cheaply than the British Monarchy and be just as enthralling for the populace.

Trivia- the Seven Years War, the American Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, World War 1 and World War 2 all happened when a George was on the British throne.

So...keep an eye on the young Prince.
