Yes, representation based on political affiliation is what I meant.TGLS wrote: I am 85% sure that Rocketboy1313 wasn't talking about making sure that each minority group has equal representation, but that each political party gets representation in Congress closer to their overall vote share. i.e. if the Democrats got 48% of the vote, the Republicans 49%, and the Libertarians 3%, the Libertarians would get 3% the overall power in congress, Republicans 49%, and Democrats 48%, while under the current system it is possible to get a wide Republican majority with the same popular vote totals. However, the main issue is balancing local representation with proportional representation. Some methods involve larger districts with multiple winners, while others add members to the legislature to balance with the popular vote.
I am a little weirded out that everyone jumped to racial and sexual representation. Especially with my statement earlier about race being a social construct.
I wrote a 6 part blog about proportional representation on the state level, using my state of Florida as the example. Primarily because the voter registration is +30% Democrat and +20% Independent, but more than 80% of Legislative seats are held by Republicans. This is due primarily to Gerrymandering and I think that doing a "Vote for Party" rather than "Vote for candidate whose name you do not know". People tend to vote for a party anyway.

Yeah, I was about party affiliation. All of the research I read (this was years ago) shows that it leads to fewer instances of internal strife related to political affiliation. Not all of them, there are still numerous nationalist movements all over the place, but a lot.Darth Wedgius wrote:That does sound more likely. My bad! And I'd have a lot less objection to this. People probably threw their votes away to try to prevent Evil Candidate Hildonald Trumclton (whichever) from getting elected.TGLS wrote:I am 85% sure that Rocketboy1313 wasn't talking about making sure that each minority group has equal representation, but that each political party gets representation in Congress closer to their overall vote share.

That is perhaps because few if any people know what Antifa is, and I assure you, if there were a chain of violence that could be pinned on an organized group that fit such a description President Trump would never shut the fuck up about it.Antiboyscout wrote:Or the Left and their seeming inability to denounce AntiFa
According to this New York Times Glossary on Right Wing extremist terminology, to compare Antifa to Alt-Right movements is false equivalence.

It is almost like "Antifa" is a buzzword because saying "Anti-Fascism" makes them sound like the good guys.
You know, because they oppose fascism.

Sorry about that. With all the talk of racism, alleged racism, false charges of racism, etc., I added 2 and 2 and got 22.Rocketboy1313 wrote: Yes, representation based on political affiliation is what I meant.
I'd be fine with that, as long as the candidates of each party who got the most votes would be the ones in office. I really, really don't want the party to choose the individuals who represent the party. I know we kind of have that happening now, with the parties choosing candidates, but at least the voter gets to say no at the end.

Being anti-Antifa is to be anti-antifascism.
Or, in simpler terms, a fascist.

Nope. Being anti-antifa is to be against thuggery. Antifa are brownshirts but for the ''left'', so they tend to beat up women and individual easy prey or private property. But you're Arkle, what more can we expect from you?
We must dissent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwqN3Ur ... l=matsku84
Re: Recent Political Violence in America
I really shouldn't have clicked "Show This Post." It's trash. Everything you said is a lie. Antifa thuggery? Really? Did they murder that woman with their car? Did they beat an unarmed Black man with a pole right next to a police station? What woman has Antifa beat up, excaclty? I remember the women that the Nazi POS people are calling based Stick Man now suckerpunched.Robovski wrote:Arkle wrote:Being anti-Antifa is to be anti-antifascism.

You want to decry thuggery, decry the people who murdered a woman with their car. Decry the man who murdered two men on atrain standing up for a WOC being harased. Decry the Trump fan who murdered Muslims in Ottawa, Canada.
Though really, if you actually cared about victims of violence I imagine you would've mentioned them. Instead you chose to lie about anti-fascists. And why would you lie about anti-fascists? Simple. Beucase you are pro-fascist. That is not slander. I am judging you by your actions and your words. I have yet to see anything from you that suggests to me you are an even halfway decent person. I would refuse to let you babysit my pet rock (if I had one that is; I'm not that old).

There is no point in arguing. If They can't see AntiFa for the communist revolutionaries that they will out right tell you they are, there is no hope.Robovski wrote: But you're Arkle, what more can we expect from you?
