Gina Carano fired

Lucas ran toy business like Amanda Waller.
Can you explain this one?
I have not heard it before.

In the dumbest way possible that could easily backfire.

I was more so referring to those who complain, say they won't go see it, and then do it anyway. I've known a few people like that. I can appreciate those who stick to their guns more than who go off heat of the moment or to fit into a certain kind of "crowd."

The EU fans I know who walked out in '14, I think were more up front than, say, haters after TLJ who still went to see TROS despite insisting they would not. Yeah, we all knew they were going to do that.

DSWC has no creative soul, it's very haphazardly managed. I mean, Ms. Kennedy is notorious for her scheduling issues, battles with directors, and far more. And she's not that bad. REALLY. I know G&G types like to harp on her as the evil witch, yet they have very little perspective. You gotta understand, it is about stoking that flame of close-minded nerd outrage for the views because those bring in the benjamins.

I'm extremely hard-pressed to say what I dislike most about the DSW management so far is all her doing. If so, then these FM nutties will have egg on their face when she leaves and, bam, nothing changes. LF has every right not to take the complainers seriously with their blatant double standards and lack of perspective, because that validates what they accuse the fandom of. And yet the loudest voices makes discerning trolling from actual consumer sentiment difficult - to a point.

I mean, trying to broaden your appeal this way was always a flawed concept, it was never going to work. The best geek hits of the last 40 years kept to a niche audience. That is becoming a lost practice when they can just repackage over and over to a new generation, new customers, while further eroding the imagination that went into the original story.

Because should we really celebrate when a business is so monolithic, it has become too big to fail? That smothers art, as we've seen in recent years.

Star Wars isn't a niche audience at all. Never has been.

The movies aren't, the older EU despite Mr. Lucas's intent it was always meant to continue as a novel if it couldn't proceed as a movie, was absolutely meant for the niche audience. And on the same level as other geek hits of the same era... B5, FS, you name it.

That doesn't make Star Wars like all those other properties though.

Search your feelings.

If your only metric is what generates the highest visibility, then yes. But let's not forget all the source material Mr. Lucas took inspiration from was always for a niche audience.

And visibility is horrible, I don't know why some people want it, 15 minutes of fame and all that. Higher visibility brings corruption, substance abuse, nonstop cameras on you, and people poking into you private affairs.

I relish being an absolute nobody. Cherish it.

Was debating for a while whether to revive this, but what the hey?

Now Ms. Carano's up for Emmy nomination. It's just bizarre.

I don't really put much stock in the "civil war" rumors, and yet even this has me scratching my head and wondering what's really going on behind the scenes.

Oh, and Ms. Kennedy is staying past September. Don't buy into the wishful-thinking clickbaiters with their "hundreds of sources" that are "inside Lucasfilm" and elsewhere.
