Yeah history books don't even touch on Wilson's racism. He allowed segregation to happen within his administration where even in DC the black middle class was rising and I think about 10% of Federal jobs were by taken by black people. Even his New World Order he was trying to make after the war heavily favored the White Europe.

All of this whitewashed in history books as this peaceful man who wanted to bring peace to the world and only entered the war because of the telegraph to Mexico from Germany.

You say "allowed to happen" as if he wasn't an active participant. When black professionals protested Wilson said “segregation is not a humiliation but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen.” He personally fired all but two of the 17 black supervisors who had been appointed to federal positions during the Taft administration.

I typed this at night right before bed. Technically allowing to happen is correct, technically. Probably should have said 'made segregation happen' in his administration.

I'm a little sensitive to Wilson apologia because I've seen so dan much of it around the net. IMO he's closely behind Buchanan for worst president in US history, and the racism is only a small part of why.

Oh I agree. I wouldn't rank him as among the worse. Bottom half sure.

Like I said, US media like documentaries have zero mention of how he was. Like not a single mention. It's always about how he kept the US out of the war as long as possible and the formation of the League of Nations. They don't even talk about how that was formed.

Genuine question, and i mean that, i am not trying to be confrontational i really am just intellectually curious. If Biden's hands are indeed drenched in the blood of children and innocents as you are implying, then that must make the 2024 election very difficult for you? A child killer vs a man you believe to be guilty of insurrection.

The two party system is a very flawed form of democracy. Not that ours is any better mind you.

Yes, it is very difficult for me. I'm not happy about it. It's a source of internal moral conflict and incredible guilt, and I look towards the days of the election with dread. I'm fully aware that it's very flawed and I have to live with my culpability by particpation in it.

Contrarians tend to say whatever to justify being contrarian. I once knew a guy who was so contrarian that he was pro slavery just to argue against it, after for months calling almost everyone else a bigot and racist for any view he disliked. This finally got him banned.

Israel is facing Genocide charges at world court, filed by South Africa. They're acting pissy and indignant about it, of course. It's not like South Africa has any experience with apartheid states. 9_9
