Identity politics are built on Marxist principles of separating people into "oppressed" and "oppressor" as classes, and justifies the "oppressed" doing horrible, violent things to the "oppressor."

IP isn't really different than social interest groups at the end of the day. It's collective representation involved in government affairs, pretty much for the same reasons like conservatism.

There's enough groups based on ethnicity that I haven't heard anything serious about oppression from. African American obviously being one that does and it's a really conscious draw on American history.
