That still depends on what they are and how many of them are ultimately owned by US companies, and quite a few of them may be. They may have bought up quite a few local brands over the years.
I have heard about the differences between what is legal in the US over what is not in the EU.
And there's probably quite a bit the other way around, every country has its own regulations (I've heard about Scottish expats in the USA smuggling in haggis).
Another French politician is stating the US doesn't deserve the Statue of Liberty anymore and should be brought back to France. Of course this is impossible and will never happen.
