Mr. Biden says the accusations are false, which hey, they could be. That being said, however... that is also a GOP talking point. I tend to think those refuting allegations as fake while painting an agenda onto them shift further right than left, and while I don't subscribe to either extreme it just seems to me as if the DNC establishment has no issues overlooking what could be serious sexual misconduct that make Mr. Biden no different than Mr. 45 simply because "he is that bad" and we need to "win at all costs."
I feel as if Fuzzy Necromancer would agree with what I am about to say, in that double standards like that is precisely why voters are fed up and want change, even something like giving a big middle finger to the whole thing. Seriously, I'm having a very hard time seeing a fundamental difference between Mr. 45 and Mr. Biden that would convince me he is a capable leader for the modern era past being the anti-Trump, which only speaks so far to his character. If it wasn't for my mother, I wouldn't even vote at all. I'm REALLY going to have choke down a vote, like swallowing a bitter pill, since I live in a red county in a swing state. Lucky me.

Oh, I’m not disputing the consequentialist conclusion here. But I don’t want to lose sight of why people react the way they do and how bad things are.ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 3:49 am

At this point I’ve come to believe that the average Biden voter wants to roll back societal progress to the 1950s. That the average Trump voter wants to roll it back to the 1750s doesn’t detract from how vile the former are.

Once again, a pox on both houses for their disservice to the American people. At one point does it get to be OK to be open to third party solutions? Because having other options would help a lot with this state of affairs but I keep getting told that this is the only way.

It's really the same with women's issues. For people who keep trying to shame me into voting (of which I am only doing so for my mother, not any kind of larger goals), I bring up how Mr. Biden is going to try to use women with a female VP. They retort that we can't think about that, we can't be selfish, we need to focus on something more important. They apply the same argument here. That we need to stop the GOP from wiping out humanity before thinking about expanding political parties to be more equal. Granted, I am no fan of say the Green Party or the official Libertarian Party or others, but that is likewise as tone-deaf as anything said to women by those who claim to care.Robovski wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 9:28 pm Once again, a pox on both houses for their disservice to the American people. And hey, I thought the cable news were predicting that Mr. 45 would have ended the world before 2017? There'd be nuclear war, and... why, it's almost as if they were lying to us all along! All too similar to Fox News lamenting that the gay marriage ruling for 2015 was the end of traditional Christian culture. It's all BS and it's bad for ya.

Perils of first past the post systems. The more places we can get ranked choice voting, the more we get the ability to actually break the McConnel-organized deadlock that's killing us.Robovski wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 9:28 pm Once again, a pox on both houses for their disservice to the American people.
