The big question is, what states do you think he's gonna carry? I think he could genuinely get less votes than Mr. 45, yet nab the electoral college. There's your democracy in action, folks.
EDIT: Looking back through some older posts I see what you're talking about, and it's easy to confuse me for that person. That said, this Yukaphile person said they live in Minnesota and I live in Florida, a crucial swing state. Lucky me. I could overlook a lot if we had a better candidate. Because Mr. Biden doesn't fill me with hope. He babbles and seems half-there.
Besides, I hope, at least, I'm nowhere near as pushy as this fella?

I said BLM, right? Not "Campaign Zero." If you look closely, you'll see that the spelling is significantly different.GreyICE wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 4:18 pmWhy, oh why, must you lie? Do I think blacks get considered criminals more often in America by pretty much anyone? Yes, and it isn't nearly fair. Yes, blacks in the US commit crimes out of proportion compared to the general population, but men do even more.

Like, it is impossible to have a real conversation with someone who is just going to pack in lies. Are there points that people don't like about body cameras? Yeah. The footage is being fed into facial recognition programs, which is not the point of body cameras at all. You should have a problem with that too.
As for Blue Lives Matter - white nationalist scumsucking bottom feeders. They deserve not one more iota of anyone's time or effort than can be used to dismiss those shiteating turdbrains as the lowlife trash they are.
P.S. On your conversation about toy guns - what do you think about the fact police were carrying them to plant on bodies? Does that change anything you think about any news reports about "toy guns" you heard where the dead suspect apparently had a toy gun next to them? Does it occur to you that many of these dead people were not, in fact, carrying toy guns?
BLM's demands included, “An end to the mass surveillance of Black communities, and the end to the use of technologies that criminalize and target our communities (including IMSI catchers, drones, body cameras, and predictive policing software).”
I don't expect an apology. That would be unrealistic from such as you.
My reference to a toy gun was about the shooting of Tamir Rice. Police confronted him in response
to public complaints that he was pulling a gun out of his pants and pointing it at people. His gun later turned out to be an airsoft replica from which the orange tip had been removed.

For the record and getting back on topic, I would like body cams on cops too. And on soldiers too, except, I don't know, maybe for top-classified missions that would endanger said individuals. I want to hold those in our top power systems accountable. That's not so wrong, aye?

And what of it when they want to put one on every man, woman, and child. Where do we draw the line? It's a conundrum that shakes the very roots of our system of liberty.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:25 pm For the record and getting back on topic, I would like body cams on cops too. The distinction I see is soldiers and policemen have very specific functions in society, law enforcement and combat engagement, so that they need to be held to a much higher standard. I'd also favor strong psychological screenings in background checks. Civilians don't qualify for that, IMHO, even lawbreakers.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:27 pmAnd what of it when they want to put one on every man, woman, and child. It is certainly something I can see him doing. And I don't mean anything nasty about that, it is just that his old handle has a lot of history attached to it. If he has gotten himself into a good place, I would be all for him starting anew if that makes him feel comfortable. Personally I would settle for knowing that he is ok - i am concerned for what support network he has.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 5:40 pmI had the sneaking suspicion since a while now. Do you have a source on that one? I looked up Campaign Zero on wikipedia:Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:23 pmI said BLM, right? Not "Campaign Zero." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_ZeroCampaign Zero is a police reform campaign proposed by activists associated with Black Lives Matter, on a website that was launched on August 21, 2015.
Now, assuming that your source checks out, all I can really draw is that attributing anything to Black Lives Matter is a losing argument, as it would seem to have a diversity of opinions.

There may be confusion on this one. I never said that Campaign Zero said anything about body cameras. I said that BLM leadership did.TGLS wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 11:03 pmDo you have a source on that one? I don't have the original source as they took down their list of demands -- the server itself (
https://policy.m4bl.org/) cannot be reached. I can cite references to that demand from others ( https://fee.org/articles/the-new-blacklivesmatter-demands-have-virtually-nothing-to-do-with-police/ , https://www.quora.com/Why-does-the-movement-for-black-lives-demand-the-police-do-away-with-body-cameras ), and I remember reading it rather incredulously.
