So Elon Musk says he will unban Trump. Basically his reasoning is because he doesn't believe in permabans and Trump didn't really lose his voice. In that it caused a rift where instead everyone on both sides of the US political spectrum was in the same place, now there will be another.
Last time time I checked, Trump's Truth Twitter ripoff is still not even off the ground yet.
That and my general feeling about this is that Trump is losing his own followers too.

I think anyone on twitter has a moral obligation to make Elon Musk lose money on the deal the way Yahoo did when it bought tumblr.

What I hate is the fact that Trump will IMMEDIATELY break the Terms of Service again so all it is showing favoritism to a scumbag spreading misinformation.McAvoy wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 2:57 am So Elon Musk says he will unban Trump. Musk doesn't plan, he schemes at most and in most cases, he has no fucking idea about what he is doing or talking about. And in the case of Twitter: You can't make money of it, except if you stuff it with advertisement of some kind or sponsorships (e.g. company accounts paying a fee). His only means of making money back with it, is to artificially increase the value (provoke interaction so the platform looks more active, e.g. unban controversial accounts and watch the fire happen) and then sell it.

He might not be planning to make the money back. While the difference between having a million dollars and a billion dollars is substantial the difference between having 200 billion dollars and 160 billion dollars is largely academic.

Yep. This exactly. All of this "make your money back" is poor man's talk.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 10:26 amHe might not be planning to make the money back. Well, I'm sure it's a concern of all the banks that are lending Elon Musk all this money in the first place. Perhaps that's why they want so much collateral.clearspira wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 3:05 pm Yep. This exactly. All of this "make your money back" is poor man's talk.

Particularly important if, for example, the collateral against which he took the loan had a sharp decrease in value that threatened his ability to repay the loan.
Oh would you look at that.

All value can potentially be lost, but wealth in the form of stocks in particularly unstable.
