I agree with you on the first sentence, but not the second. Getting rid of him is paramount.clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 3:54 pmThe sad reality of the situation is that Trump is a symptom of what is happening in the US rather than a cause. Getting rid of him is the equivalent of taking an aspirin for your cancer - the relief is brief.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 3:38 pmU-hu? Didn't Trump get like 49% of the popular vote? I mean, let's not argue about the inherent bullshit of someone coming into office in a "winner takes all" voting system (which is a bad system to begin with, but that's besides the point), despite not being the winner in the first place, but there's an elephant in the room. It's like with the AfD in Germany. The far right wing parties never got more than a combined 10% in the worst moments of our modern history and yet, there it is...CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 12:09 pmMy concern is honestly not with fair voting. I believe that Trump would overwhelmingly lose in any election as a rejection of fascism, hate, and corruption.

There's only one party that represents the right, I think is the circumstance. It's the same with the European People's Party in the European Union. You guys have liberalists and socialists that make up a little more than half the EU political parties, but you don't get that differentiation with the right party. If nazis just show up to it, then it's not going to make for the tightest implications.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 5:43 pmIn other words, if you want to change the political system, then demonstrate for change and don't pick the worst possible person just to give a finger to the system. This is the dumbest thing you could ever conceivable do and that so many people are clearly incapable of making this simple connection and stubbornly refuse to take a step back even 4 years later, is just baffling. After all I can only come to one conclusion about this issue: They either just do not care about what they allegedly care or are so blinded by hatred, that they do not recognize what they are doing or are flat out too stupid to comprehend the obvious. Either either of that or we have more Heath Ledger Jokers in our societies, than I am comfortable with.
Also we're not really as anxious about Nazis as you guys are, so take it easy on us, yeah?

* Dis-enrolling hundreds of thousands of black voters
* Reducing polling stations from thousands to hundreds in multiple states
* The court challenges to giving former prisoners the right to vote back
* The dismantling of post office machines in Democratic districts
And really, the media attention on it is a failure of previous decades, not that it's not newsworthy to expose it.

Or, is it something's that being used to push that illusion? I don't dispute it is happening, but perhaps the scale is being exaggerated. That's how politics is played, and the democrats, as part of that system, will be just as much determined to shove through their own agenda.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:36 pmWhether it was more or less, it's been noticed this time:Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:16 pm

This is why I generally don't trust anything and why I'd prefer never to vote, yet my family pressured me into it this year. They insisted Mr. Biden has the votes locked up from traditional blue states, and that my contribution in a purple swing state would help, hence why I don't wanna see my hard work put to waste. Only recently did I feel like that might not be the case. We shall see.

I really first became aware of it only with Stacy Abrams in Georgia. Hundreds of thousands of votes were removed from the rolls by the Governor she was running against. The majority of them were black voters and she lost by only a small number by comparison. No investigation, no chance for a revote, and the guy just smugly acting like it was business as usual. After that I became aware there were some people who didn't care if they'd "really" won but just cared about winning.Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:47 pm Or, is it something's that being used to push that illusion? Similarly, there used to be 1300 poll stations in my state. One at every elementary school in my area that were closed on election day.
Now there's 300 and I had to drive out of town to find one. It told me someone no longer wanted me to vote.

Yeah, I'm lucky, the school right down the street is still a station.
