The dream has no chance at reality, because you are going to shift your goalposts even further into the ridiculous the moment it appears as a reality. And the name is Madner.

This fear of a woman VP is coming out of nowhere and I feel poised to call it a hyperconcern that wouldn't cause any problems even if she became the first "non-voted" woman president.

This is hardly topical for Democratic Primary News.

@Madner Kami Because if we're not going to have a female President this year, we shouldn't have a female VP either. To be fair. Yet several candidates have openly boasted they will choose one. Like Biden. I have no control over that and that's what enrages me most. I can't stop what's probably going to happen. And that was a typo.

@BridgeConsolMasher I've felt this fear since 2015. And it wouldn't cause any problems, but it is undeniably still more patriarchal condescension. I don't deny a female Vice-President would be good, but properly electing a female President is important too, to show to ourselves how far we've come, supposedly.

It has to do with the candidates and what they'll do when they win, or who might win. It is entirely relevant.

Neither is talking about the t'n'a of a character from Elfen Leid and talking about how having sex with your cousin is somehow a japanese thing in a thread asking about whether back pain from big tits actually exist in the Video Review section of a forum of someone who semi-professionally reviews Sciene-Fiction, Fantasy and general Fiction works of art. But hey, what do I know? This forum approaches unsalvagable crazy ever closer, post by post.

We all go off topic. That is undeniably a fact.

We all go off topic once in a while. That is quite a difference.

It still has to do with the Democratic primaries, so it should be relevant. Why not? But whatever. I've made my position clear. You guys don't wanna discuss it, I'll drop it - unless somebody tags me in, so if you don't wanna discuss it, then please don't tag me.

In the U.S., all other things being equal, women and men have pretty much the same success in getting elected when they do run for office. However, fewer women run than men, and more of the incumbents are men and incumbents do have advantages.

The best gender-neutral way to get more women into office might be term limits. That would pass muster with people like me, who are against voting for or against a candidate for their sex.

Yukaphile is inspired i’m Sure by things like this: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/po ... e-for-men/

It’s honestly a creepy article? But I think in the main it’s not something to worry about just yet.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/01/politics ... index.html

Now this is messy instant polls at a national scale, so absolutely not to be taken at face value. But the movement and directions are predictable as hell, and will in all likelihood be reflected to less dramatic effect in more formal quality polls. But yeah, I just think there’s a reasonable chance that enough Boomers have, at last, died to open up paths of progress.
