What is your favorite political topic?

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. What is your favorite political topic?

Post by Yukaphile »

Mine is, and should no doubt be, improving the lives and welfare of women and children worldwide, so they breed happier adults, and that would be tied into economics too. Even changing generations and centuries of social perceptions here in a First World developed country is something I want to do. So, change the gender stereotypes that men are big, strong, and meant to lead the way, and that women are smaller, more nurturing, and meant to support. Though I disregard Feminism. Can't stand it.

Politics by other means, better known as war.

Behind that foreign policy and how it blends into politics by other means.

The latter is especially interesting given it being my main concern with regard to my neighbours to the south an my hopes that they can recover and strengthen their global hegemony to maintain our current post-WWII stability.
so they breed happier adults
Happiness isn't the end all be all, unless you're a Utilitarian and think something like Brave New World is a good idea.

Happiness is but part of the balance, especially with regard to attaining it. I don't much like Jefferson, but he was on saying the key part of the Pursuit of Happiness is that it is up to you to catch it.

For me, it's equilibrium. Finding the best path through order and chaos, individualism and collectivism, happiness and meaning/fulfillment in life, which almost always entails much pain and suffering to attain.

I think it's right there in the word. Besides, I've seen people get cheesecake on their cakeday and rarely pie, thus, it is cake.

Geopolitics coupled with Realpolitik.

If you want to have a deeper understanding of how and why countries and groups act the way they do, Geopolitics is one of the best ways.

Listenning to left wingers talk about losing or their cultural domination. It's fascinating.

Me talking about a topic. US Foreign policy.

You had me convinced, but then I heard that Alton Brown calls it a custard pie. He's like the Mr. Spock of the culinary arts.

It is a pie where the cheese takes on a cake like texture. Note the cheese is a filling like a pie. It has a crust like a pie. But cakes do not get crusts. Poor cakes. so left out.
