I'm afraid that, even if all the charges are found true, even if all the evidence mounts up and President Neelix is found guilty of fraud, collusion, violating the emoluments clause, etc...
it won't MATTER. That he'll just refuse to recognize the legality of the court, that Bret Cavenaugh will rule it's not a crime if the president does it and sway the majority vote, whatever, and the GOP will go right along with it.
That there will be funny, angry satire about it, and protests across the nations, and...nothing will change.
Please convince me otherwise. Please tell me that there are some consequences this man can't avoid just by ignoring them and having a party that will go along with it.

Impeaching him in the current cultural atmoshpehere will be a CIVIC DISASTER OF EPIC PROPORTIONS.

Impeaching Trump is meaningless. Convicting him, however, is not. But Trump can only be removed if at least 15 Republican Senators vote to convict him. The only way that will ever happen is if Trump loses the support of a substantial amount of the Republican Party. And the only way THAT happens is if Trump loses a substantial amount of his public support. And if THAT happens...then there will be no substantial backlash to his being removed.
When Nixon was impeached, it was clear he did not have the support necessary to survive in the Senate, and so he resigned. When Clinton was impeached, it was clear he DID have the support to survive, and so he laughed all the way back to his office.

Time will tell if Trump can hang onto his party.
How could he lose support considering people knew he was scummy at the start?

The people are a fickle lot. They have been known to change their minds.

As George Carlin once mentioned. They found a cure for apathy, but no one cared.
If the President is found guilty and manages to sidestep all criminal liability by stating the President cannot be held accountable. Then we should move to remove him by force. Because he will have effectively crowned himself emperor of the republic. But I fear no one will really lift a finger to try. And if anyone does? That person will be branded insane, a terrorist, and a traitor.
What I think will happen instead of the potential match in a room full of explosives. Is they will discredit enough of the evidence to drop the whole thing so guilt or innocence is never legally a question.

Mike Pence would so much better as a culture warrior and policy wonk...
Assuming he learned anything from the past few years.
Yeah baby, shit would get even more real assuming he does not wreck it with FP hawkery.

This presumes there are even crimes to be arrested for.
