Who is behind it? That's the question. That it's specifically targeting Democrats leads me to two conclusions. Either a Trump-supporting right-winger, or an extreme Democrat-hating Sanders supporter, who was never a Democrat anyway.

Could be either one. Some think it's an Islamic terrorist, but they'd construct actual working bombs far superior to this. And they'd target Congress and the White House. Not just one party.

I mean, don't get me wrong...until very recently, your statement would have been correct. And the right wing is still far, far ahead. But it seems like the left is at least testing the waters.

Are assaults by Antifa not serious violence, or are they not left-leaning? Or the 2016 shooting of police in Dallas?

You'll find extremists in both the right and the left. I pay more attention to what most members of that faction say about the violence.
