This was...not great...for Democrats.
They got the House, but lost considerable ground in the Senate. This will make things much harder in 2020. Managed to flip a few state houses. Got a few moral victories. But the Democrats are going to have to do better if they want to start racking up the wins. There are a LOT of Trump voters that don't show up in polls.

If anything, this just gives Democrats subpoena and veto power over Trump, which is good. We need that kind of check in a democratic system. It also means, according to my mom, they can demand his tax returns. So maybe we'll finally see what's in those? Shit, can we do the same to Bernie Sanders maybe? No, gurargh, we can't upset his small cult this close to 2020... well, if he runs in the next election, can we do it then?
