Sheesh people. It's almost 2019 already, and we don't even have a thread up regarding possible 2020 candidates? It's like we're not a serious political forum at all....
So here's a place to serve as a catch-all for the announcements and stories that will start rolling out over the next few months. I'll start us out with something that will no doubt cause every Democrat everywhere to breathe a sign of relief.
Some people are terrified Clinton will run again, and I tell my right-wing friends, she will not. Just because Fox News claims she will.

It's not just Fox...I've seen chatter in all kinds of circles that she'll run. But personally, I don't see it happening. A second bite at the apple is reasonable, but 3 is desperate.
I predict with 95% certainty, Trump will run in 2020. For everyone else, ask me this this time next year.

It's time for the Boomer presidents. Then because boomers are boomers you might get one gen X president and then we move on to a Y or millennial president. Turn turn turn and all that.

Beto O’Rourke, weighing whether to mount a 2020 presidential bid, met recently with Barack Obama at his post-presidency offices in Washington.
The meeting, which was held Nov. 16 at the former president’s offices in Foggy Bottom, came as former Obama aides have encouraged the Democratic House member to run, seeing him as capable of the same kind of inspirational campaign that caught fire in the 2008 presidential election.
The meeting was the first sign of Obama getting personally involved in conversations with O’Rourke, who, despite his November loss in a U.S. Senate race in Texas, has triggered more recent discussion and speculation than any other candidate in the burgeoning 2020 field.
Obama is going to have to navigate this primary VERY carefully. Unlike most recent Presidents, he remains quite popular, and could easily play kingmaker. That's a lot of responsibility.
