I see free speech is to be protected only if it's speech you don't really hate.

Please clarify meaning. Are you referring to the senator's free speech, or egg boy's?

The senator's.

How many times do I have to go over the definition of Free Speech with you?
It's about protecting you from being silenced by the government.
This boy did nothing to stop the senator's right to free speech. He's exercising his own right to free speech, as much as a heckler at a night of bad stand-up comedy.

What might be silencing free speech is when this grown-ass man, a man with power in the government, ran after this kid who smashed an egg on him and started beating the shit out of him.

Getting egg on your face is annoying. Getting repeatedly punched by a bigger, stronger, person is assault.

What about a Koch?

Since the senator isn't using the power of the goverment to beat up that little shit, he isn't impairing the kid's free speech either, by your very own definition.

Throwing the egg is an assault. Just because you happen to disagree with that senator's shitty views, it doesn't absolve the kid of what he has done. I would react the exact same way as that senator, if someone threw an egg on me and I would feel justified. I would do the same as the kid though as well, but I would expect a reaction like the senator's and act accordingly.

An egg is not a koch. An egg is not a sack full of quarters. Are you proposing that every heckler who throws a tomato at a bad performer is committing assault?

Yes. Yes they are. If you say something that I consider stupid and I throw something at you, don't you feel assaulted? And if not, please let's meet somewhere, I'll bring a couple of rotten tomatoes with me. And maybe a brick.

My travel budget is very limited, but I'd be willing to make an attempt if we find something feasible. How far do you live from Pennsylvania?

If a grown senator can't take a non-lethal egg to the face without screaming bloody murder and trying to beat the kid into a lower weight class, he needs to retire from politics or grow some spine and balls.

Heh, good.

I love how the police released the kid without charging him, as if they knew that no jury in Australia would convict him for humiliating Fraser "It's those damn dirty Muslims' own fault that they were slaughtered!" Anning.
