As if Brexit could not get any weirder. Personally I think that he'll get irreversibly smeared by the mainstream press before he gets anywhere regardless of his policies.

I think the mainstream press will ignore him but who knows.

Sargon doesn't need any help from the mainstream press making himself look foolish.

Could be his own fault, given who he associates himself with these days.
I used to be subscribed to him and even though I didn't always agree with his views, he used a sharp knife and knew how to cut to the heart of some really stupid matters and I enjoyed his videos. I don't know anymore what video it was, that put me off on him, but it was shortly before the BrExit-campaign happened (but it was not BrExit-related, a couple of months before).
I began to look at him with different eyes and then he went down the deep end, eating all the shit that the BrExit-campaigners threw out there. Now, don't get me wrong, I think there are legitimate reasons to not wanting to be part of the EU or at least being critical of the EU, but there's some really stupid reasons out there and he regurgitated them all. His behaviour to people who criticised him and pointed out flaws in his arguementations or gave counter-arguements broke the proverbial camel's back and I unsubscribed shortly after. Can't say he improved in that time, from what I can tell, rather the opposite. The people who he associated with, dulled his knife.

I don't see how you could've ever considered him a good commentator, whether you agree with him or not. I have various points where I might agree or disagree with him, but that isn't really the issue with him. Sargon regularly doesn't bother reading past the first page of the things he complains about and never bothers watching more than the first five minutes of any rebuttals to him (all the while making bloated 45 min+ videos about nothing himself). I tend to hate throwing the word pseudo-intellectual around but that's precisely what Sargon is.

In retrospect, I wonder about that myself (especially now that I read up on his history, due to this thread).
I got to him via his "This week in stupid."-series (I'd guess this happened at around Gamergate) and enjoyed it. Probably overlooked some of the more glaring issues with him and since I never really paid any attention to Twitter or checked out other stuff with him beyond his main channel and "Ancient Recitations" (and boy did that project turn out bad), I clearly missed some of his more stupid moments, which would have likely tipped me off a lot sooner, if I had noticed them. Well, mistakes were made.

I watched a video featuring him on Roaming Millennial. He didn't really seem too much of the asshat that people have made him out to be, but idunno lol.
Apparently he's a fan of Wisecrack and did a response video to their Starship Troopers' Fascism video. I had no real preconceived ideas about Sargon, but just found myself disagreeing with his rebuttals. At some points I felt he didn't understand the propaganda nuance that SSTroopers channeled from 1940's wartime in America, which is an understandable misconception, but I think I remember just kinda disagreeing with him for the most part in the video.

I think he's already been irreversibly smeared by the mainstream press, so there isn't much more they can do other than continue to screech about how he's an alt-right Nazi.

So what makes someone a real one?

Actually bothering to read and understand the stuff you're talking about, for one? If you read only the abstract of a 20 page report and then make a 45 minute rant based off that (something Sargon has done multiple times) then you deserve to be called dishonest at best and a complete jackass at worst.
