The headline you used is not quite accurate. From the article you linked to:
Please be aware that should you continue to use the discontinued version(s), you may be at risk of potential claims of infringement by third parties.

Would "you can be sued for using an old version of Adobe" be a more acceptable phrasing then?

It's a reverse Youtube copyright strike system in that instead of Youtube handling all the copyright strikes on behalf of the companies, the companies seem somehow linked in the arrangement through contract pertaining to cloud usage of certain programs by Adobe.
..What mirror universe?

Actually that's the running title for the article. Though with the article itself, I don't think that amounts to that much focus in the article whereas the issue of cloud licensing replacing ownership is.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 2:08 am The headline you used is not quite accurate. I think that would be more accurate.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 2:37 am Would "you can be sued for using an old version of Adobe" be a more acceptable phrasing then?

I have a copy of Elements 11, the license is perpetual.

Okay now it looks like this is a scare tactic sent out by...either Adobe or Dolby? I'm not sure. =S
