No, he isn't playing any games, from what I can tell. This seems to be more of a talk show/discussion type thing. Perhaps the modern update to Roosevelt's Fireside Chats?

This feels weird, doesn't it?

So let's see, he wants to pander to a demographic that is 80% male, and less than 60% of them are old enough to vote. As a Democrat.

How this man continues to not be President is a mystery. A veritable enigma wrapped inside a conundrum.

A weak answer to Donald Trump's social media domination.

The youth vote has always been a selling point of the Democrats. Don't tell them that the youth are the least likely to vote, the elderly are the most likely to vote, and Americans tend to become more conservative as they age.

Oh please. Democrats aren't idiots. They hire all the same consultants that the Republicans do, and they know darn well who votes and who doesn't. That's why they're the party of Saving Social Security and Don't Let Them Defund Medicare in addition to being hip with the youths.

But Bernie isn't a Democrat, and I'm pretty sure he isn't even really running for President, so normal rules don't apply here.

Idunno, white (edit: male), maybe. Talking to the youth can be a pretty noble endeavor. Sure it can be subject to pandering, but this is a candidate that knows his audience that's listening to him tell the issues like there are.

Except for what Yuka's about to chime in about him murdering three inmates in a Salvadoran prison back in the 70's when he was running cocaine into the states.

I guess, but this is not a candidate that's serious about being President. If you want to sit in the big chair, you sell your vision to my mother, not my son.

She's the one that's going write checks to your campaign, and she's the one that's actually going to vote. At most, he might meme about you, but it's even money on which way that goes.

Well this is actually good way for him to reach his target demographic since streaming is big thing.

Well that's on him. Everybody knows who he is. Donations (for just one anecdotal instance, I know) are probably not necessarily expected out of this.

The way you're putting it (at least right here) would be more of a problem if this was to be his principal campaigning platform, but it's just another medium for him to address the people.

As a campaign tool, I hear you in that it's potentially non effective, though this is just the primaries where people are still coaxing with their ideas. More importantly I think it resonates for him as a symbol. Something that can strike fear into the hearts of his enemies. If not that then just be both a non-circus traditional way of campaigning as well as cultivating whoever listens to be more receptive to social democrats that are voting for either presidential or congressional seats (yeah I said it. Come at me "democratic socialists").

Oh I agree with you. This is a classic Bernie move, 100% in line with the persona he has crafted.

It's just a persona that is never, EVER going to be elected. ;)
