So either someone wasn't bothering, or they were encouraged not to bother.

Also, that's remarkably stupid. Someone can kill themselves in a quarter of an hour. I know it's probably "save on expense" but seriously...

It does seem suspicious. If idea was to prevent him from commit suicide then clearly they didn't even try or care which makes you think was it on purpose.

Don't be silly. Normally those under suicide-watch have barely anything beyond their clothes in their cells, so not watching permanently isn't usually a problem.

I don't tend to buy into conspiracy theories either, but this smells. It could be suicide, but I'm not going to be convinced without really firm evidence.

I think that's why people love conspiracy theories so much, particularly those concerning the Illuminati or grand government cover ups. The idea that things like this can just happen through incompetence or laziness or just straight up stupidity is just too simple or depressing. It MUST be an assassin, it MUST be more detailed, there MUST be more to it because the alternative involves admitting one of the main reasons why life is so shit: there is no plan.
