Okay so I came across this article today
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/customers-handed-over-their-dna-and-the-company-let-the-fbi-take-a-look/ar-AAGbg2R?ocid=spartanntp
And it said there is debate about all the privacy issues and so forth. But it did not seem to go into what the issues are. So I thought I would bring it up here and try and get a clearer picture of the issue.
I have yet to find something I am absolute for or against. So being clear I think in concept this is a good idea. But thinking on it I do have one or two concerns. How close to matching does this company use? Why without warrants? Because in the case of the deceased girl, how is scanning their files for a match different that trying to match her face to available photographs at say a local school? Do they need a warrant to look through the yearbook?
What are your thoughts?

I guess it's like the social security numbers. Technically they're just a plain number that's associated with your name. It doesn't have any exposing non-generic information about you, yet it's complex enough to be unique, more so than a picture.
..What mirror universe?

I honestly suspected as much, which is part of the reason I never would do one of those tests myself.
