Alicia Silverstone calls for environmental externalities from dairy to be accounted for

https://www.buzzfeed.com/marissamuller/alicia-silverstone-dragged-starbucks-for-not-being-eco

Also!I'm always frustrated by extra charges for non-dairy milk. Y should we be penalized 4 making the eco-choice? It would be amazing for
@Starbucks
to lead the way &consider enviro externalities associated w the dairy industry by having dairy cost + or at least = plantmilk fees.

It's not milk if it comes from plants.

The word "milk" has been used to refer to "milk-like plant juices" since 1200 AD.

Milk of poppy predates 1200 AD. We probably should not make an exception for opiates considering the litigious state of the US and the opioid crisis.Dog milk however should be sold as milk.

Freakin city slickers, they have no idea that most animal feed is not straight up corn or soybeans but plant byproducts that are inedible to humans.

In california i know they use almond hull and pistachio hull

Well, to be fair, livestock produces methane (ignore non-CO2 GHG at your own peril), and if there wasn't huge demand for animal feed, biodiesel might be in a healthier position (cheaper feedstock, cheaper diesel). Not that I'd argue for vegan diets to quell Global Warming; soy milk tastes like crap and I enjoy meat.

In other news wannabe "journalist" desperate for story teams up with washed-up actress in a desperate attempt to get people to notice them.
If Chuck or a mod reads this feel free do delete my account. I would do it myself but I don't seem to be able to find a delete account option. phpBB should have such an option but I guess this isn't stock phpBB.

Almond hull does not contain significant amounts of oil. The current bottleneck for bio-diesel is the
crude glycerin byproduct.

I prefer pork anyway. Pigs can be fed food scraps and thus could be used to reduce human food waste. Pigs also produce much less methane (about as much as a human)
