In the USA at least.

I heard about this before but this was the first time I'd seen it in an actual article, not just an anecdotal account. The TL;DR is that if you are a friend of police, they will give you a special card to let you get away with small crimes because you're okay.

So like are we able to get one? As long as we get one too then I'm fine with it since that's what justice is.

I'm seeing a suspicious lack of actual evidence in this article. You have a witness with a false identity, some anecdotal statements, a ''genuine'' card on sale on eBay, and a lack of any official statement.

I mean I've seen it before, but it wasn't anything special. Just a fairly normal business card. Had a coworker get out of a DUI because he was friends with a sergeant who gave him their card, officer who pulled him over let him go with a "stop driving drunk fucko". This was back when I was working in New York though, the NYPD has a very loose relationship with the law.
As the article said, I doubt it'd get you out of anything major, and other police departments ain't New York. NYPD has a lot of little accommodations, comes with their friendly relationship with organized crime.

It'd just be a lot easier than yelling "do you know who my father is??" at the police officer. That only works like 75% of the time.

Is this like some left-wing DAs refusing to prosecute offenses if they were done for righthink reasons?
