for $1 billion corporations.

It's specifically in response to Biden's remarks about not including in the 1.9 trillion dollar stimulus.
Always good to remain skeptical but this seems like a good idea on the surface of things.

That seems like it would be a mess to enforce.

I don't want to take the time and energy to explain to you all the complexities of the minimum wage.
I will just say, you should all support higher wages for workers, all the time, wages have been depressed for decades. Additionally, you should be voting for universal healthcare, more vacation, shorter workweeks, free higher education, and access to healthcare.
All of these things have been diminished for decades and it is killing the middle class (which was never all that great off to begin with). You might be asking, "Who will pay for it?" The same way we paid for the interstate highway system, restore the highest tax bracket to 90%.
Wealth inequality is killing the economy. Rich people are not creating jobs by piling up a dragon's horde. Take their ill gotten gains and use it to make the world less shit.

Being a sweet old couple with a gastropub or kitchy used book store is no excuse to shortchange workers.

I disagree there a difference from a local small business having to make cute to keep the lights on versus a multi billion dollar company ripping off it employees so those at the very tops can get even more money

Business ownership is a privilege, not a right. If you pay your employees so little they need government assistance, then you don't deserve to run a business.

So you believe that either you don't make changes so soulless mega corporate can take advantage of their employees, or make it to where only soulless mega corporate can exist.

I don't have time to explain to you why what you are saying doesn't pan out, because it would take maybe 3 class sessions to establish the right context. But take my word for it, you are working from some well meaning but ill founded assumptions about how the minimum wage impacts small and large businesses.
