Believe me, no intentions to both-side this. I'm actually pro-life, but I also consider it a family matter, and outsiders have no right to interfere.

I don't live in Texas, so nothing I can do. I think this will get so much severe pushback, it's not gonna make it through. Because the second a woman is killed for getting an abortion, you're gonna see riots unlike nothing we've seen before. It will make the January rush look like a harmless Sunday picnic. I also don't think this is actually legal. The court and the jury decide the verdict and punishment for all those accused. Abortion isn't also a crime. If it was outlawed, then it would be.

I could never be a democrat, but nor would I be a republican either. This is why. As to what's up with Texas is simple. They love the death penalty and want to expand it. I'm not anti-death penalty, but you gotta have limits at some point.

You don't know that, maybe we will reach the point where going to Texas is punish with death.

I could sadly see that. As I observed, nothing I can do except keep trying to make a dent in my part of the world. You can't change the world, but you can make a dent.

Just remember basic physics. Every action breeds an opposite reaction. The left, and the radicals on the left, are not gonna tolerate this, same as every right-winger and radical right-winger.

Whether it can be passed or enforced, it's disturbing to even see the bill being proposed.

This bill seems like a publicity stunt or just an excuse to get Roe V Wade challenged in court. That being said, if you believe "abortion is murder" and that the death penalty is justified for murder, then it stands to reason that someone who chooses to have an abortion would be a murderer and then should be punished as a murderer. I am not going to give my take on abortion, but I am very anti death penalty and I am from Texas. I do not believe this will pass.

Strikes me as a publicity stunt too or push to reopen Roe V Wade, which would probably be repealed in today's day and age. And pro-life I am, I feel the only say the government or corporations get is in terms of funding. Because really, who is going to pay for it? That should be debated. But past that, it's a private family matter. They have no right to interfere and neither do local communities.

Even if it's a publicity stunt, it's a friggin terrifying publicity stunt. Like, how would you feel if your state senator introduced a bill to punish something you've done with the death penalty? Even if it had no chance of passing.

Isn't this bill automatically invalid due to the phrasing to ignore any federal or court cases saying the other wise? I mean if you could get that through. Why not a bill to announce you are Emperor and no one is allowed to challenge that claim?

So yeah this sounds like a publicity stunt. A damned scary one. But . . . The cynic in me thinks it will pass and there will be a river of blood from this. The idealist says there is no way in hell this will even be voted upon.

I believe the idea (like the Arkansas bill, and the Alabama bill) is to bring something that will result in a suit that can be appealed to the supreme court.
