Finally. All it took was 13 years, a grass roots activist movement, and a massive media documentary. But I'm glad to share some good news.

Time for her to get whatever money was stolen from her now.

Probably wasn't that much I'd say.

I heard it was tens of millions. Unless that got all spent.

I wonder if this will be enough of a high-profile example to get the nightmare conservatorship system overhauled or disbanded? Or if everyone will just put everything that was brought to light about it out of their mind now?

Dear Dionysus, I hope and pray so.

Again, the conservatorship system is a GOOD THING. There are people out there with severe illnesses and mental problems who cannot look after themselves. What are you suggesting here? That we shouldn't step in to stop people who unable to look after themselves from losing everything they own? Because that isn't moral. And it certainly isn't right.

Interesting you bring up Dionysus, who among other things is the god of insanity. Which is exactly what your statement is. Or made when blotted on wine - that works too.

Putting the most vulnerable people under the absolute control of the kind of person who would accept absolute control of someone with basically zero oversight like it does now is basically just feeding them them to abusers of the most vile sort. Getting robbed blind by the conservator themself is not really better.

First Official thing I found, if you actually care enough to read into it there's lots available: https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-10-1046

Or it's appropriate because has to do with a concern about exploiting the mental health of others or unfounded claims of such which also easily falls under insanity and includes vulnerable minorities under Dionysus's purview.

But sure just rush right towards the worst possible take you can find/getaway with.
