This is a big deal. If we can get a majority on this, we can fire Louis Dejoy and get the one gods-forsaken thing that really WORKED WELL in this government back on track.

Would be really cool if the government let the Postal Office finally let the Postal Office do its own thing.
I always enjoy how many people really don't understand how the Post Office works.

I can't believe Biden left DeJoy in place so long. It was no secret DeJoy was put there specifically to sabotage the service.

He probably was planning to get rid of him but had to take care of some of the other messes Trump left first.

Essentially the Postmaster General is rather unique in government offices in that they are not directly nominated by the president. Instead, there's a board of 9 members on 5 year terms who the president nominates people to when posts open, and they hold hiring and firing power over the position, though of course traditionally the president will recommend people to the post.
What happened was, when Trump took office several posts on that board were empty, and he just... left them be, because he already had a republican-appointed majority. So essentially it's just taken this long for Biden's nominees to work their way through the guts of congress, because this was actually just a thing in the Trump administration and there were hundreds of various government posts left empty.

So you are telling me that Trump's administration didn't do its job?

Ground breaking behavior for the Trump administration, I know.
