Tennessee pastor leads burning of Harry Potter and Twilight novels
A controversial Tennessee pastor led a book burning on Wednesday night to fight “demonic influences”, with a crowd incinerating copies of books including Harry Potter and Twilight.
The burning, which was livestreamed on Facebook, followed last month’s decision by a Tennessee school district to ban the Holocaust-based graphic novel Maus.
“We are well aware what we are stepping into. Bring it all. Stop allowing demonic influences into your home,” pastor and pro-Trump conspiracy theorist Greg Locke wrote in a Facebook post that has since been removed.
“We will be in our continued series on Deliverance from Demons. We have stuff coming in from all over that we will be burning. We’re not playing games. Witchcraft and accursed things must go,” wrote Locke.

These words by Heinrich Heine, a german poet, are embossed on a plaque at the Dortmunder Hansa Square, at the exact position where the Nazis and their followers created a funeral pyre for books they deemed antithetical and heretical to their believes and convictions on 30th of May 1933. Quo vadis, America? It took the Nazis less than ten years to come from there to burning people en masse.

Doesn't surprise me at all. This isnt uncommon really. Holding book burning rallies burning books on science like evolution, anything that says thd Earth is older than 6k years, etc.

Yeah because Tennessee is emblematic of America to the same extent that Germany is of Germany.

There has always been either calls for book burning or actually did it. Especially for some reason Harry Potter books. Been going on for awhile.

This has been going on for centuries. As long as it's not state mandated, as in government backed we will be fine.
