Terrorist leader hit by drone strike

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. This was the co-founder of Al-Qaeda, the brains behind the operation (bin Laden was the money). He's been a major player in terrorist incidents around the world for decades, including 9/11. If he had been assassinated during the Presidency of Bush or Obama, it would be front page news and people would be speculating it was the end of that whole terror network.

Trump passed an opportunity to kill him because he had no idea who he was, and I'm guessing most people around here don't either.

Maybe it's a fitting end to such a notorious criminal that he goes out without fanfare, but it's also a little damning that people are so ignorant of global affairs that something so major has flown under the radar.

When it takes the most powerful country in human history 21 years to kill one guy its not exactly something to be proud about. It taking 10 years to kill Bin Laden was already pretty embarrassing. He showed up the West and I doubt i'm alone in thinking that.

It's funny how nothing that the US does is satisfying anyone. Drone-strikes killing people as per the US' wishes? Evil USA. US takes time to identify and single out a target? Incompetent US. US doesn't kill a person under the control of a nominally allied nation? Corrupt US. Normally that kind of arguement comes from the extreme left. I'm surprised to see you using it.

This is a guy with a cave and a Toyota and he has outwitted drones, satellites, and every branch of the intelligence and military services for 21 years. Give this guy a role in the next Bourne film, he is the stuff of Hollywood.

Btw I'm all for killing terries with drones. Cheap, effective and safe.

What are we gonna do, put a guy at the airport? These guys are trained to be ghosts. Hell the US taught them to do it.

Don't waste time chasing after them, just make them come to us.

Everybody has pressure points- you find something that's personally important to them, then you squeeze.
