So what's people's thoughts on this?
Garland has given a speech on the subject and it's about the classified documents that Trump has already been proven to have improperly removed. So much so that the National Archives took 14 boxes away in January when they were removing them peacefully without any criminal or civil charges.
Now they've had to do it again with 15 boxes and there was a snitch.
I mean, they did this the easy way before and now we're doing it the hard way. The question is what Trump wanted with all of this and if it really is, "was outright selling it to foreign governments"

And we know what the documents were relating to....nukes.
Oh Jesus Christ.

Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday, according to people familiar with the investigation.
The people who described some of the material that agents were seeking spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. They did not offer additional details about what type of information the agents were seeking, including whether it involved weapons belonging to the United States or some other nation.
Nor did they say if such documents were recovered as part of the search. Garland spoke [about authorizing seeking court permission for a search warrant] moments after Justice Department lawyers filed a motion seeking to unseal the search warrant in the case, noting that Trump had publicly revealed the search shortly after it had happened.
One former Justice Department official, who in the past oversaw investigations of leaks of classified information, said the type of top-secret information described by the people familiar with the probe would probably cause authorities to try and move as quickly as possible to recover sensitive documents that could cause grave harm to U.S. security.
"People, this is it," the message [from the TruthSocial account of the man who tried to storm the Cincinnati FBI office] said. "Leave work tomorrow as soon as the gun shop/Army-Navy store/pawn shop opens, get whatever you need to be ready for combat. We must not tolerate this one. They have been conditioning us to accept tyranny and think we can't do anything for 2 years. This time we must respond with force."
Former senior intelligence officials said in interviews that during the Trump administration, highly classified intelligence about sensitive topics, including about intelligence-gathering on Iran, was routinely mishandled. One former official said the most highly classified information often ended up in the hands of personnel who didn't appear to have a need to possess it or weren't authorized to read it.
That former official also said signals intelligence - intercepted electronic communications like emails and phone calls - was among the type of information that often ended up with unauthorized personnel. Such intercepts are among the most closely guarded secrets because of what they can reveal about how the United States has penetrated foreign governments.
A person familiar with the inventory of 15 boxes taken from Mar-A-Lago in January indicated that signals intelligence material was included in them. The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association - the professional association representing 31,000 federal law enforcement officers and agents - said in a statement Wednesday that its agents had received "extreme threats of violence" this week.
Republicans around Trump initially thought the raid could help him politically, but they are now bracing for revelations that could be damaging, a person familiar with the matter said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

Wasn't Trump basically told to hand over the documents earlier this year?
Obviously the backlash as been obvious on the side of the conservatives. Like the FBI is aeaponized by the Liberals. FBI is corrupt.
And of course Trump is still calling it a Witch Hunt.
As far as nuclear weapon documents, they could have the literal codes written on the papers and his supporters will say he was framed. In their eyes he is not a Traitor.
Just remember Trump has a consistent record for his distsin of veterans who were killed, injured or captured.

I got nothing to say here.

I already knew they were completely unprincipled liars, but the 180 from demanding the warrant be released to demanding the warrant not be released and insisting all the evidence they found was planted without even blinking caught me off guard.
Also I see some poor brainwashed bastard got himself killed actually trying to act on those calls to violence.

Yes, that's what makes this especially criminal. They had the chance to turn over the documents to the National Archives, despite the fact this was incredibly criminal to have them, and get away free and clear.
They turned over 14 boxes but kept 15 more.
Which is either copies or more stuff they stole.
This is another sign that unless you throw the book at Trump, he just keeps on breaking the law.
And fucking NUKES!
People have gotten the death penalty for taking information about that.

Considering Trump is a moron whose best grift during his entire 4 years as president seems to have amounted to selling trinkets and begging for money from his troglodyte fanbase the idea that he had all this material is strange.
Was he holding on to it as some kind of leverage? Was he going to sell it? What was the end game?

If the takeaway from the past couple of years is, that he's a complete moron, than you haven't been paying attention. He's a terribly incompetent businessman, yes, but he's quite adapt at reading and manipulating people. If his father wouldn't have tried to make him a business-mogul, Trump would've made an excellent preacher or politician. He's a natural con-man.
Either that or you have to believe he's a complete moron and only was kept in power due to grey eminences proping him up.

I don't believe in grey elements or any other conspiracy theory. I believe that Trump did nothing more than to find a way to speak to a particular group of disenfranchised people like they have never been spoken to before. I believe that group to be mostly comprised of blue collar Americans who have lost their jobs to globalisation, diversification and AI, and conservative Christians who see the idealised 1950s as being the pinnacle of the USA.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 6:34 pm If the takeaway from the past couple of years is, that he's a complete moron, than you haven't been paying attention. I would say that parts of America sleepwalked into Trump. The establishment did not realise/did not care about the fire that had been brewing in the bellies of these demographics and instead went for the continuity candidate in Hillary Clinton who in many ways represented everything that these groups resented. By the time the Democrats realised the joke candidate was sweeping the polls it was far too late.
People WANT to believe his lies because they WANT to believe his message (fabricated as it may be). The danger is not actually that Trump runs again, the danger is that someone who is actually competent who shares his views takes his place.
