So they want 14 year olds working in meat coolers. Fresh dystopian hellscape stuff.

Well, sacrificing the youth in order to create pressure onto labour costs is one way of dealing with workers demanding more money, I suppose...

I thought the main reason they have age limits is because it gets too hot. Kids left unsupervised get heat stroke if people aren’t careful with windows and such.

The main reason they have age limits is because children should be learning, not working, and people fought and died to get away from the days when we had four year olds working in coal mines.

Mainly child exploitation. Using them as small humans to get to the small areas that adults can't and also be paid less than a n adult. Too many children were being killed.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 3:26 pm The main reason they have age limits is because children should be learning, not working, and people fought and died to get away from the days when we had four year olds working in coal mines.
Kids were basically being used to help pay for the household too because Daddy and even Mommy were not getting paid enough. Back when electricity was more optional than required, same with cars, no monthly bills like cable, internet, or phone. Nor insurance for anything really. Sure, they had to basically buy their groceries on a daily basis since they didn't have a fridge.
But somehow they were not paid enough to one or two adult incomes to survive and thrive.
I got nothing to say here.
