It's ok to use a bathroom that matches your gender identity

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Apparently there's no intention of releasing this in China or Russia because of the queer content and will, sadly, have a more limited release in the UK due to the higher discrimination of transgenders over there. Again, I doubt this myself as it seems almost to good to be true yet hope it is as it would be great to see it.
The UK is one of the friendliest places on Earth for Transgender people, certainly no better or worse than the US. What are you talking about?

It's better AND worse than the US. Depends which specific state we're talking about. Like you don't have self-id or a lot of basic discrimination protections or access to trans healthcare without sitting on a waitlist for years and your news media is openly hostile but hey you aren't forcibly detransitioning everyone either and it hasn't been a crime to inform children queer people exist for years now.

Spoken like a person with limited experience of world culture. America is actually extraordinarily welcoming and tolerant compared to even much of Europe. Certainly compared to African or Asian countries.

Oh, I know this world has regions that are EVEN FLIPPING WORSE than the USA. At least we haven't instated the death penalty for being LGBT+ (Yet. Florida's Admin has had some concerning ideas). I'd still keep my head down outside of the major cities and college towns.

To jump into this point I need to reiterate that this isn't what I said but what I read from someone else and I've myself noted that this is likely not real. From the data I've gathered the UK IS one of the friendlier countries when it comes to Transgender rights but by and large it's about the same as it is here in the states. But with several well known celebrities, like JK Rowling, it often feels like it's worse there then it is in the US.

It's not but that is how it feels sometimes which is likely what that person was referring too.

Really I only brought this up to talk about the idea of using a familiar story, one that Disney will continue to us until we all die, in a new direction that maintains the spirit of the original but explores it from a new angle.

Again, in the end Freaky Friday is about parents and children coming to understand one another, it's just this time it's two kids from different families switching bodies instead of a parent and a kid.

The film will, supposedly, be more of a screwball comedy that has funs with the two leads not knowing key details about each others lives and the humor is more in line with Stevenson's slapstick and witty dialogue. But the film will take the play the subject of trans gender feelings and the nature of transitioning with complete sincerity.

This is just believable enough for me to wonder if it's real but there's just enough information to make me go "Huh, that doesn't sound right."

And one of those was the limited UK which I should have pointed to as one of the bits that made me question this film so my bad.

I mean, they're doing a crackdown on gender neutral bathrooms, so I would like to see some evidence that they are remotely transgender-friendly before I believe it. https://www.ladbible.com/news/uk-news/u ... 7-20230813

Not letting strangers with penises anywhere near your half-undressed wife or daughter is called ''being a decent husband and father''.

Sorry. We're never going to see eye to eye on that one.

And tbh, i'm a bit pissed about being questioned on whether the UK is LGBT friendly or not when in your country you have annual massacres of gay clubs and you elected Donald Trump to the White House. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks as big as asteroids.

Yes because:
1) Everyone who will not be stopped by a stall door will be defeated by a sign on a regular door or increasingly commonly, an archway.
2) Men have a sole monopoly of accosting people in bathrooms, and women have a sole monopoly on being accosted.
3) There are no technological solutions to bathroom accosters (i.e. Floor to ceiling stall doors) and neither would normalizing bathrooms as ungendered places (i.e. Parents chaperoning young children of the opposite gender to bathrooms)

What the hell are you doing in the public bathroom that you're half undressed outside of a stall with a lock anyway?
