Florida Attempts Death penalty for being trans

Short version:
Florida made "drag in public" illegal as a sex crime against children. Said anti-drag bill is vague enough that anyone being trans in public can be charged with it. Now Florida is trying sex crimes against children punishable by death.

Here's a link to Rainbow Railroad https://www.rainbowrailroad.org/ if you want to help get trans people out of Florida while they still can.

Also, anyone pushing for bathroom bans and other anti-trans legislation? If this passes, it's blood on your hands.

Oh, they've been talking this madness up for a few months, now.

Seriously, people? GET THE HELL OUT OF FLORIDA!

This one's weird. They've been loudly boasting about it for months (I note the article is from April) but there's so little mainstream media coverage people think you're making it up if you mention it as a reason you won't go to Florida.

Do you know why Death Row exists? And why people sit in it for like 10 years before being executed? Its so the condemned can appeal their sentence. People are not just sentenced and killed.

In the extremely unlikely event your worst case scenario happens, it would last five minutes, and create such a national outcry that the law would change immediately. The world is more sympathetic to transpeople than people like you like to admit.

And don't be so dramatic. Bathroom bans are not equivalent to execution. That's real dumb.

News? More like Olds. That's from months ago.

Anyway, USA Today's fact check on that. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/fac ... 743251002/

Good. Better me stand corrected then folks getting the needle for simply existing. Still wouldn't want to be in Florida right now. Though, mostly in a "don't want my tax/tourist money going to the current State Admin" sense.
