French Election

I really don't follow French politics but nice to see that after all the doom and gloom of the political commentariate acting like a far-right victory was inevitable they were rather soundly defeated by the left and liberal parties working together strategically to not split their votes.

Coming so soon after the UK election it's starting to feel like the fever of madness may be breaking.

I really hope this is part of a larger trend that will follow in the USA. I'm just not as confident in the United States liberals ability to work with leftists.

Yeah unlike the Right, the Left is widely spaced that they could practically give the Right the presidency if they don't work together. And I am not talking about moderates or Trump for that matter.

Like there is still a feeling that the left would rather vote for a corpse than let Trump win.

I think both the left and the right have been skewed by the information age. The left's hierarchy has been dissolved while the right's voice has been stifled by adoption of more precise considerations of what's deemed socially appropriate. Like, Biden has a lot of support from progressives for his initiatives, but everybody sees him in a plainly contemporary sense. I feel like people only expect him to live up to his own legacy before he's even gone from office.
