Democratic Presidential Candidate

Post by CharlesPhipps »

So, it seemed to be Kamala.

What do we think of this?

Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Given the meltdown the collective right is currently having and their seeming inability to actually properly attack her at the drop of a hat, I'd say she's the perfect candidate. And as far as I am concerned, the "smallfolk" has spoken:

I really didn't expect her to get such a kickstart from everything and everyone, given she was the least liked candidate in any polls besides Biden, but there it is. It speaks volumes to how badly Biden needed to drop out in the first place. The energy this simple and obvious act freed up, is immense and was badly needed. I was convinced Trump was bound to fail. Now my heart is convinced as well.

Gotta say, I was and still remain skeptical, but the surge in actblue donations is encouraging. Also so far the best the GOP seems to come up with against her is "she's using a marxist luciferian chant", which is funny.

I dunno? Maybe we have reason to hope? Still really scared but I'm trying to be optimistic. Still, four months is a long time and we seem to get at least three radical political upsets a week at this rate.

I certainly like her better than I like Biden, but that applies to most Democratic presidential hopefuls. I am however concerned because, historically speaking, switching to a different candidate instead of going with the incumbent president has not been a very successful strategy.

While Fuzzy has a point, remember that Biden was mostly hated by people for age and less deeds. Given Kamala is gonna align with what Joe wanted, doesn't have the baggage of age or 'Brandon', she's got it a lot easier. Plus as long as she doesn't Hillary it, she should get a lot of people hyped for the first female president. It is WILD how Hillary fumbled it so badly that I was almost tempted to vote a third party than her... and that is INSANE given who she ran against!

The trick is, that the VP's job is one of an enabler and Biden's overall legacy is actually pretty darn good by american standards. Put one and one together and you got something. Biden's successes are, at least in part, due to her work behind the curtains and that's something you can capitalize on.

Exactly, a VP is meant to do one of two roles. Get you votes, or get you respect. Kamala was the latter, Pence was the former. Now with 2024, I dunno who's Kamala's choice is, but VPrick is gonna be a mix of votes... and the cruelty of the job, which is always a bonus.

I'm honestly astonished how quickly the party rallied around her. Combined with being timed exactly to take the wind out of the GOP's sails right at the end of their convention it makes me suspect this has been planned for a while.

I mean, if you wanted someone else to run, why wouldn't you just do it as quickly as possible. I mean they wasted how much money for Joe ads alone?
