The thing about star Wars is that then the good guys would try to make peace.

:)
Of course they would, not that it would change anything.

A good spoiler, is someone who is always pursing their own goals and do whatever they need to do achieve them. Sometimes they help the heroes, sometimes they help the villains, but they are always working towards their own ends.

This is what made Char from the original Mobile Suit Gundam such an interesting character because he was willing to work for or against either side if it helped his own goals. It added this really interesting dynamic to the story and I would love to see something like that in SW, either in film or in the EU.

It's why they shoulda went with Shadows of the Empire rather than the Prequels (and still should, they can easily side step the main cast). The next attempt with the Yuuzhan Vong didn't go so well.

Another flaw is that the galaxy is too mapped out. Only small corners remain outside of the Republic/Empire. There is no room for a major peer threat to originate there, hence why the latter race came from outside the galaxy.

Prequels was entirely Lucas. He wanted to do the fall of Anakin and rise of Vader.

Shadows of the Empire or Zahn's trilogy could have been the basis of the Sequels.
I got nothing to say here.
