In the latest episode of the Delta Flyers podcast, Rob Duncan McNeill revealed that he is in talks with Alex Kurtzman for a Captain Proton TV series. Possibly animated in the vein of Lower Decks. He visualises it as basically Flash Gordon for the modern era and would feature the Voyager cast.
This sounds like the sort of thing that would get me to like Kurtzman if it happens! But what are your thoughts?

I find it about as exciting as putting on underwear fresh from the washing machine.

I guess they really ARE out of ideas to return to such an older brand, lol. I thought only 1990s fossils like me were the ones to remember that.

This does cement my impression that the Kurtzman era of Trek is really following "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks." I mean, both Discovery and Picard are both series I could imagine Berman running with. On the other hand I couldn't see Berman doing:clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:28 am This sounds like the sort of thing that would get me to like Kurtzman if it happens! -> An animated comedy series
-> A CG animated series aimed directly at children
-> Ordering two series based almost entirely on the performance of guest stars in another series (Strange New Worlds and Untitled Section 31)

Re: Possible Captain Proton TV series
... why did I see Captain Power instead of Captain Proton?
Ugh, forum surfing at the crack of dawn ruined my brain...

I mean, maybe as a bunch of shorts it'd be fun but why not just do Flash Gordon?
