Sebastian wouldn't want it, Fenris and Merrill can barely stand each other and I doubt ANY of the companions being in a relationship where Anders was included (even Isabella can't stand him and she's just as much of a sex addict as he is).
Basically I would like a PM option, but not every option has to include a PM option. Like, I would be okay with a Inquisitor, Dorian and Iron Bull option but a Dorian, Inquisitor and Sera option wouldn't make any sense just based on the sexuality of the characters along with the fact that Sera is more of a annoying sister to Dorian.
We never do find out how Queen Anora and Leliana feel about one another. Mind you, I think Leliana wins the former over.

It's gonna be weird when she's Pope, though.
That actually reminds me of something said in DAI, Vivienne mentions that she was the mistress to Duke Bastion and that she and Bastion's wife got along quite well and I know that in France it wasn't uncommon for Royalty to have a number of wives and mistresses and that there were cases of them getting along as mentioned in the Doctor Who episode The Girl in the Fireplace.
Yes, I believe that any avenue to make RPG romances at least a bit more varied is welcome. With poly romances, my first idea is basically 'routes within routes'.
Let's say we've got three characters: Alex, Betty, and Charlie. Alex is our PC/MC. Alex can pursue a romantic relationship with either Betty or Charlie like you've been able to since at least Baldur's Gate. These are Routes 1 and 2.
However, if Alex makes a point to have Betty and Charlie interact with one another regularly, they'll begin to become good friends and may even become a couple if Alex either doesn't pursue either of them (maybe Alex is AroAce, who knows) and/or actively plays matchmaker. That is Route 3, where Alex ends up in the best friend/third wheel role to Betty/Charlie.
However, however, depending on how you handle Route 3, the Trio could come to realize that they share equal romantic affection for each other. Betty and Charlie had feelings for Alex already, that's how Routes 1 and 2 got rolling, but the time they've spent together has kindled another flame between them. Route 4 could go a few ways, Betty and Charlie realize they're both still attracted to Alex and decide to bring Alex into a mutual mistress arrangement. Alex decides to confess affections for Betty and Charlie that Alex has been repressing for the sake of their relationship and they decide to reciprocate. Alex tried to pursue Routes 1, 2, AND 3 simultaneously and somehow not only kept the eventual revelations of infidelity from tearing their group apart but also balanced the A/B, B/C, A/C, scales perfectly so that everyone had their cake and ate it too. Or Alex screws that up and it DOES shred the group to pieces, leading to a bitter parting.
Hell, maybe there's a secret Route 5 where Alex, Betty, and Charlie forge their bonds together simultaneously and the 'household of three' develops on its own. Neither one can imagine living without the other two now... so they never do, sticking together forever. This one is my favorite.
So, yeah, I say it could work and I hope someone actually tries.
Do you mean like an indie RPG where managing and fulfilling the needs and desires of a polycule is a core element or as something slapped in to the side of a Bioware game? Because the former sounds really interesting and the later kind of tedious.
I think Disco Elysium has really showed us that we need more RPGs that are RPGs to the core rather than shooters or hack and slash games with RPG elements.
