Silly Question Time: Which Cassandra Cain Outfit is Your Favorite

Post by Winter »

Over the course of her time in DC Cass has had I think about 3 different Outfits, her original Batgirl outfit, the Black Bat outfit and Orphan.

Now personally my favorite outfit is the Orphan as I just like the design but I get why fans have an issue with it as it's Cass taking on the identity of her abusive father instead of emulating her adopted father by taking the role that was once filled by her surrogate sister. Personally I would keep the outfit but just have her become Batgirl again.

What made me think of this is the Batgirls series where Cass became Batgirl again but also got her old outfit back which would be fine except Steph also became Batgirl yet is using her Spoiler outfit just with a Bat logo on her chest. Don't get me wrong I LOVE her Spoiler outfit but why is she sticking with her old outfit yet Cass is returning to her old one?

That is the funny thing about superhero universes - secret identities work flawlessly and no one worries that they'll fail. In real life, if a crook caught her without her armour, utility belt and vehicle she would be Barbara Gordoned. Her only chance would be that the crook decides to close into 5ft with his high-powered gun and decides to go hand-to-hand.

I like ''The Killing Joke''. Its a very good examination of why crooks don't just shoot the hero - because the story would be over.
