A 2000 year old dead assassin, a love slave, an obsessed robot head, and a security guard as a captain of a giant phallic insect that blows up planets.
Should do a series review
Anyone remember Lexx?
Re: Anyone remember Lexx?
YES. I loved Lexx! Season 2 was the high point for me but I've still got a soft spot for season 3 with its interconnected storylines, and Prince was a great antagonist. I'd love to see how Chuck would tackle reviewing Boomtown.

Re: Anyone remember Lexx?
I watched it the whole way through a few years ago and I have mixed feelings about it.
I liked the characters, particularly Stanley who was a strange cross between Lister and Rimmer from Red Dwarf. He could be pretty sleazy but I didn't find him as unlikeable as most of the in-universe characters did, plus, growing up in that kind of universe I can't really blame him for how he turned out, he's just a cowardly, unlucky moron whose usually in way over his head.
I thought the humour and the writing was very hit and miss, I enjoyed the first four TV movies but the rest of the show got too stupid and tasteless for my liking as it went on but it still had memorable moments here and there, plus the art, special effects and set designs were awesome and creative, even if they are dated now.

Re: Anyone remember Lexx?
I tried to sit down to revisit a couple years ago and the rose goggles shattered, what little there was for me as a casual "Oh that weird show is on, guess I won't change the channel" level of commitment I had towards it in those pre-internet days (pre-internet for my house). I just feel it has not aged very well and I found myself...mostly irritated by everyone. I enjoyed the more focused stuff, but whenever the writers were like "Hey let's allow the characters to dictate the pace and direction" it felt like a mistake every time. *shrug*
That said, I do agree Chuck taking a crack at it could be very enjoyable.

I only remember it because it was on the Sci-Fi channel with Farscape. I saw some of the ads and it was just too weird for me.

I vaguely remember this show but I just didn't really like it and/or was into it.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for the first season. I figuratively stumbled into watching it - late-night tv, not really paying attention, and suddenly here's this bunch of hippies singing their war song as they fly wasp fighters against a planet-killing spiderweb (the singing was a magnificent way to start the show), and then we've got this insane mix of vast dystopian sci-fi and made-for-tv budget sets, creepy alien monks and pratfall comedy, Barry Bostwick running around in hotpants, undead assassins, carnivore critters, giant spaceships, horny robot heads - and as a little extra seasoning, the whole tone of it felt to me just like your typical low-budget half-hour show, but being the movie it just kept going... It felt like somebody switched on the 90s Sci-Fi Generator and just left it running with nobody at the controls, and I had no clue whether the next scene was going to be a planet getting blown up by accident or a topless shower scene with an alien dick water hose. In a weird way that probably had a fair bit to do with it being well after midnight, it was glorious.
The other seasons didn't get aired at the time - at least, not that I ever found out about - and I'm not really moved to go get them on dvd. Season one works for me, in spite of (or bizarrely, because of) all the reasons it shouldn't on rewatching, and I'd like to just leave it at that.
